another poem...

Yoz! Like every good movie, there is always room for a sequel. So here's my second offering to wrap up the GIP afterthoughts...

“All the world’s stage”,
Perhaps Mr. Shakespeare puts it best.
Through it all we have come of age.
We, the mere players had passed the test!

Sadly, we have come to the end of the show,
Although I still wished for an encore.
Even as the American credits roll,
It’s time to return and answer reality’s call.

What a chapter it has been,
Forays and thrills like no other.
One that we can all relate to our children.
Just like an enthralling bestseller!

While events can chronicle our time,
Life’s the hardest book to write certainly.
Its chapters may be distinct and defined,
Alas, the next line, that ending, remains a mystery.

Now immersed in a sea of familiar faces,
We inevitably part ways for greater plans,
Will our paths cross again in other places?
I can’t say for sure but it all lies in God’s hands…

Stuck in Atlanta day 2

Hmmm... seems like someone really wants me to stay longer in ATL...

Oh well... i'm stuck in ATL for yet another day, due to a pretty ludicrous reason. At least i've experience the "great american" flight delay.

Come to US must do what?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Have your flights delayed/cancelled of course!

-.-"

So here the story goes (again):

After the flight cancellation, my family and i arrived at Hartsfield the next day. We were in pretty cheerful and relaxed, after all we did manage to get an SQ flight.

We went to the delta international check-in counter to check in our 10 luggages (yes, 10 biggass luggages for the 5 of us). The queue kinda looked like what you would see if u played Snake on one of those nokia phones without dying....

Nairmind... we queue.

I and MS's flight was at 440pm, my family at 730pm and we would arrive in Rome and take the SQ flight back to singapore together. We thought everything would be fine, you know, the normal check in, bla bla bla no liquids/gels/aerosols, walk to gate then fly already... little did we know the stunt Northwest was gonna pull on us...

Flashback to the previous day. The Northwest lady who booked the tickets for me, called betty or something, was pretty bossy. She looked pretty much like that black woman that was serving us when we ate at Mary Macs, loud and erm... in charge.

I din really liked the way she treated customers and she was always impatient. When i asked her how are my parents going to make their connection if they were to reach Rome at 6pm and catch the SQ flight at 7pm. She was like "OH PLEASE HONEY International flights are never late!"

When asked her about the luggages, she was like "You know how it's like! Come on, you know how it's like!"

In my mind, i was like "no, i don't know how it's like..." but i decided to continue cause i got quite a long line of people behind me and most of their problems can be settled quite easily and i think some people are already cursing at their suay luck they chose the wrong line to join. So i quickly settled the matter in hurry. Getting the tickets were what mattered.

Back to the next day, yeah so we waited like 80 minutes at the delta line. It's kinda akin to the wait we had at splash mountain, only that i and MS din play that "diu diu diu" game. (haha sounds vulgar) I kinda figured it would be cool to have one of those "The wait would be approximately 80 mins from this point" or one of those fastpass kinda things, at least u can go shopping or eating then comeback and skip the damn queue!

Finally, we managed to get a Delta representative. She checked in my parents, no problem. Then checks in me and MS: WHAM, MS's flight wasn't booked.

I was like: "what the hell u mean it's booked but not reserved?" After like 40mins of standing there, the lady was doing a lot of calling here and there and talk here talk there and then asked me to go over the weighing machine behind her to look at her console, she drops the big big bomb.

MS cannot go on the delta flight, must go talk to nwa to sort it out cause apparently it is they screwed up. I was like WTF? only left 1 hour to the flight then ask me do this monkey shit. We reached the airport at 1 for a 440pm flight, then the whole thing unfolded at 330pm. I was like.... siao liao... this time sure stuck in atl for another night.

So i took back 4 luggages, asked my family to go back first, then went to settle with nwa.

At nwa, i found the girl that was working with betty the previous day, and asked her to help. She's not so pro as betty in finding all the flights, i think she's kinda new or something. I kinda regretted talking to her cause she took quite a while to find anything. Then she gives me a new routine, taking all nwa flights back to singapore (sianness).

I've been settling things with americans the polite way, talking things out, taking the things they say at face value cause i think getting angry will never make things easier.

My father kinda intercepted halfway as i was gonna get my tickets, he flew into a rage and said that this arrangement was not acceptable, and that he din care what they did as long as they got me on my way back to singapore that day.

That kinda got 3 more people working on my problem, they roped in the manager at the last minute too. But the problem remains- all flights are really really booked. they just weren't powerful enough to magically create 2 more seats in the plane.

At this pt i and ms were making stupid jokes about putting ourselves in a box labelled fragile and seat in the cargo haul instead. MS started folding all the luggage tags that could be found at the front desk in half. We were that bored, but hey, it's been 5 hours and my legs felt like they were gonna break anytime soon. I ate my lunch at both delta and nwa's front desks, dun even have time to go choose what i want to eat.

Ah but i digress, in the end... doing things the singaporean way in american........................

did not work.

What it did get me was a night's stay for 2 in a snazzy sheraton gateway hotel, and a 40 dollar meal voucher for the 2 of us. According to the price list in the sheraton room, a night's stay for 2 costs 499.... quite bullshit cause the marriott at niagara was much nicer and it costs 200 nia...

but oh well... end of day 2.... my parents have flown off at 730pm and i and ms are still in atl... i think i blogged too much for the day, my fingers are cramping up. Will tell you guys more about day 3 the next time!

Stuck in Atlanta

Hello gipeeps!!!!!

i'm stuck in atlanta for 1 more day. Northwest airlines called it an "act of god", i call it "god want me to stay in ATL for 1 more day" (Hohohoho)

Anyways, it makes for an interesting story, so i might as well share it here.

Our trip back to Singapore was full of obstacles:

1) Our flight was delayed from 1205 to 1330

2) Upon boarding the flight, they requested that 9 people volunteer to get off the plane because the plane was "too heavy". In return, these 9 lucky people got a $300 round trip voucher from NWA and they will take the 1630 flight on delta airlines.

3) Once that was out of the way, we had a 15 minute wait for the fuel calculations and weight calculations to be approved and sent to the pilot before the plane can be pushed out of the gate.

4) Finally, the plane left the gate and the crew was preparing for takeoff check. Just as the plane was HALFWAY to the takeoff strip. It stops dead and the captain announces that all westbound flights are put on hold as there are thunderstorms in the region.

The captain proposed that we wait in the plane for 45 mins because we have already left the gate and if the plane was to return to the gate there would be a long line . So we
just sat on the taxiway for 45 mins, the air circulation was pretty bad and there were times when there was no aircon cause the plane was running on it's auxiliary engine to save fuel. I was feeling all light-headed and giddy from the lack of fresh air when the captain decided to return to the gate. (Hooray!)

5) Returning to the gate, NWA announced that all flights westbound are cancelled (like WTF?~!?~) No compensation (ie hotels, flights) will be given as it's considered an "act of god" so what they could do for us is to rearrange the flights again.

6) Went to rearrange my flights, here's what i got:

Non-stop flight to ROME on delta airlines! Hohohohohoho ROME ROME ROME ROME ROME!

and now for the winner:

Non-stop flight from ROME to Singapore on Singapore Airlines!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I think i can hear u gasp in front of your computers!

Hohoho! SQ girls here i come!!!

Now i'm sitting comfortably in a Ramada Inn room, chilling out till my flight at 1600 tomorrow. Hopefully nothing else pops up tomorrow or else i'm really gonna get pissed.... I'm starting to miss home already!

Oh yeah, while i'm on the topic of nice flight upgrades... did i mention that i had a free upgrade to business class on my way from ATL to Orlando? heehehehehee......

Till then, Seeeya guys and take care!!!

greetings!

How's it going?

Wow! If I ain't blog any longer, this gatech blog will soon become clarna's blog!
(Or has it already become theirs...???)

Sweet. So how's everybody? My gf and I just caught the movie "Ocean's Thirteen" and throughout the movie, we were more excited about seeing familiar places and structures in the movie, than the movie itself. Movie is so-so. But if you wanna relive Las Vegas, go watch the movie man!

Guess everyone is back from Summer trip and catching on life in SG. So am I. And I heard of some good news amongst us! haha congratulations to weinah aka hansheng! Hope everyone enjoyed every little bit of ur summer trip, be it the happy, fun, boring, fustrating or sad moments. Afterall these have become part of our memories which we will properly tuck it somewhere.

And for me, I'm stuck in some camp. If you guys need to go take IPPT, do call me up.
I'll be watching you get GOLD...

We live in a city full of materialism but lacking in soul

April 28, 2007
We live in a city full of materialism but lacking in soul

THE stock market is reaching a new high, new apartments in prestigious locations are hitting psf prices that border on the ridiculous, en bloc fever has seized our small but prosperous country in a proportion that is unseen before and people are buying new cars as if there is no tomorrow. Our country has indeed outgrown our expectations.

I have also lately seen siblings taking each other and even their own parents to court over some property-sale dispute. Kinship is sacrificed for the many millions that are at stake. It seems blood ties are worthless. Is it worth it?

Our society is riding high on the cash cow of materialism. Starting salaries of young graduates are re-adjusted and our civil servants/ministers are getting higher incomes. People work harder for their promotion and I have seen department heads as young as 27 or 28 years old.

Singapore is indeed a land of opportunities and no wonder we see long queues of foreigners wanting to work and settle down here. We have become the New York of the East. We have arrived, or have we?

Yet I see a city lacking in soul. There is an empty shell that people hide in with their degrees, work achievements and expensive purchases. The exterior seems posh and attractive but deep inside there is ugliness and a sense of disenchantment.

Many feel lonely and have no one to share their riches with as they themselves have no time for relationships. Work becomes their solitary pursuit and meaning for existence.

Divorces are ever increasing year by year as people do not see the value of giving in and valuing love commitment in a relationship. There is also no time for such a commitment as time spent may not translate into any tangible return for either party.

We often measure friendship or even marriage on whether the opposite party can provide some form of return. That is why many find it difficult to ask their friends out when the chips are down.

People here want to mix with the successful and the attractive. If you are down and out you are often left alone. What a shame!

Even in MRT trains, our population needs to be reminded to give up seats for the aged and pregnant women.

Our domestic maids are routinely abused during their work assignments. This is a sign of a graceless society lacking in simple gracious acts. We seem to have a long way to go here.

As the country continues to prosper and mature, let us give some thought to how we can improve the software of our people. As we frantically work and pursue materialistism, I find that many of us have lost our soul which gives us the meaning of our existence. For if we live life without any meaning, we are better off not living at all.

Goggling madness

Wonder if any of ya saw this before?

For the clueless...

Dead week is a slang term for the week before final exams in the United States of America. The week is known thus because of the propensity for college and university students to save exam study until the last possible week, and because term papers are often due. Students prepare for the exams and papers by pulling all-night study sessions, usually with the aid of stimulants such as coffee, NoDoz pills and Red Bull. During this period some students will suffer from sleep deprivation, increased irritability, and stress [1].
Ref: [1] - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_week, dated 07:34, 23 March 2007
(see what research term papers have done to me!!)

Here, Georgia Institute of Technology students have developed a "primal scream" tradition, in which students open their dormitory windows and scream at midnight, every night of dead week. It's called Midnight Madness!!!

Ladies & gentlemen, start your (scream)engines!!

God bless & take care GIPeeps! Victory is ours to steal!!!

Hey guys, here are the flight details for the flight from Chicago to San Francisco. We are flying to Oakland airport instead of the main airport because it is cheaper to do so. Oakland and San Francisco airport are both about an hour away from downtown san francisco. There are several ways we can get to the city center. Smokies

Have a proposal for hiking in the Smokies this weekend. Thinking of climbing Mt LeConte via the Alum Cave Bluff Trail. This is an approximately 11 mile loop, will take approx 8h, so this will be a full day thing. One of the most spectacular trails and the best vantage points in the park. Moderately difficult trail with elevation of 2600ft (900m?)

Will be hiking on Sunday full day cos I'm only getting to the Smokies on Saturday afternoon. People hiking so far: Jackson and me.. if anyone else is keen on spectacular views and tired legs let either of us know lah :)

Erm yeah and since I can only leave on Saturday there will be a car leaving on Saturday after 12 noon. People in this car so far: BF, WS, and me. Room for 2 more, if anyone also wants to leave on Saturday pls voice out~

this is the english version

6 Flags 04/15 is a GO!

Ok people! I have booked the tickets for 6 Flags, and a total of 16 people will be going.

Weather seems to be holding up well, with a few showers and 10% rain probability (for now) .
Keep checking

http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/30168?begHour=1&begDay=105

for more updates! Hopefully the rain from saturday doesn't pour over till sunday.

Travel Directions

We will have to take a Marta to station W5 Hamilton E. Holmes, then take route 201 to go to 6 Flags. I'm not sure how the bus schedule works out but i think it starts at 0845hrs and runs at 40 minutes intervals.
So if we miss the shuttle = HONG KAN!!!
(*cough* Bev *cough cough* Jane *cough cough cough*)

Could someone help me decipher this thing? It looks like gibberish to me

http://www.itsmarta.com/getthere/schedules/tables/rte_201_Su.htm

-.-"

i is blur

Operating Hours

The operating hours for 6 Flags is 10am to 8pm. So i figure that a good time to meet MIGHT be 8am on Sunday, try to catch the 0925 bus, or even better the 0845 bus so we can all be kiasu and chiong the nice rides first!

The timing to meet can be decided on saturday night depending on everyone's shagness level (i.e. too shag then later lor...)

Breakfast

Might be an issue here since some people dun like to eat too full lest they puke on the rollercoaster, and some people like to eat full full then puke on the rollercoaster. So should we have breakfast together? I'll gather feedback on saturday ba. Till then, keep your fingers crossed for NO RAIN.

Ice Hockey - Atlanta Trashers vs Washington, 4th April

Hope everyone enjoyed the trip up Smoky Mountains.

Wei is extending her housemate's invitation to GIP for the Ice Hockey game where Atlanta Trashers will be playing against Washington. The reason why it is being organised so early is because game tickets for wednesdays are 2 tix for the price of 1. So the next home game on a Wednesday is 4th April.

"The tickets will be $14 each plus a $3.50 booking/postage charge making $17.50 per person. (The tickets are half price so they are in the $28 location!)"

Leave your name in comments, whether interested or not interested, by 8th Mar (this thursday). The earlier we book, we can choose our seats, all seated together, and pick the best seats available.

p/s: I know many of you read this blog. While people work hard to organise, will still require the coorperation of the rest. Many went smoky mountain, but few had actually indicated they are going until needed to be asked verbally. Will sincerely appreciate if we can have have this system in place and save the time from asking people around.

GIP Ahead....
Mar 10 - Lookout Mountain
Mar 17 - Depart for Florida
Mar 25 - Return from Florida
Mar 31 - Skydiving?
Apr 07 - Skydiving (backup)
Apr 14 - Whitewater rafting
Apr 21 - Unplanned
Apr 28 - Study weekend

Okies, for those who are skipping school on Friday, 16th, you have the option of going Tampa early, departing GLC on Friday 0001hrs. Lemme know if you're interested.

See Route

Let me know if you have other suggestions and comments. For Orlando, because its gonna be free&easy, some may intend to travel elsewhere further up north. You gotta let me know by 8 Mar 2000hrs if you need to check out the hotel earlier, (or bear the full costs for not informing). Also, wherever you'll be going around Orlando, form groups of 5 to travel in a car together, anything less will depend on car availability..

This Sunday, we'll be collecting additional $300 from each person (excluding Hannah & Dawn) to cover for the expenses that we will incur for the first half of Spring Break, ie patrol costs, miami hotels, bahamas... this will cushion the financial impacts of those making the bookings. Kelly & Aston will be the Accounts Executive for Spring Break. Do give your real bills to them.

That's all for now.

=====================================================================
=====================================================================
=====================================================================
=====================================================================
Spring break is coming in 1 mth time but still there's no concrete plan yet..
It's really hard to plan for such massive group to a massive state for a massive period...but here're my plans..

I think not all wanna go to the theme parks in Orlando..hence I'm thinking of doing it this way:
Stage 1: GIP as a whole

Sat 0000hrs: From Atlanta, we drive towards St Petersburg/Tampa area (possibly move out at midnight, 7hr drive. Not staying in any accomodation, half-day tour).
Attractions include Busch Gardens, The Pier at St. Petersburg,
Florida Holocaust Museum
and Pier 60. Source: http://www.tampaattractions.com/attractions_tampa.html

Sat evening: Leave Tampa for Key West where we stay 1 night, 7hr drive
Sun Morning: Tour Key West for 1 full day, night movement to Miami, 3hr drive. Stay in Miami for 2 nights. Alternaltively we can stay in Miami for 3 nights from Sat night, and visit Key west without staying there.
Monday & Tues: Beach Fun in Miami as a group.
Attractions in Key West:Southern tip of US, Sunset celebrations, Dry Tortugas National Park, Dolphin Adventures..etc..
Attractions in Miami:Holocaust Museum, South Beach

Tues morning-evening: Movement up to Orlando, 3hr drive. Along the way we will bypass safari park which we can drive in and see the animals roaming free. Next stay in Orlando for as long as you want.
Stage 2: GIP splitted
Wed & beyond: Free & Easy

Generally when in Orlando, the GIP will NOT be together for outings..totally free & easy. Things that can be done in Orlando include theme parks, space centre, daytona beach, city stuffs, Ripley's Believe it or not etc..

If there are too many days spent in Orlando, as a smaller group, you can organise to move up further north to Jacksonville, Savannah, Myrtle Beach, Augusta, Macon or even up Nigara Falls????? Just gotta take into considerations of time, costs, making sure ur car takes full capacity and not leaving anyone behind to squeeze in other cars, and max 2-3 drivers per car.

Welcome any suggestions (in fact I do need alot of them)... Also, looking into the possibility of collecting $100 from each person to cover group costs such as accomodation up till stage 2. For these will require a couple of volunteers to be the finance ic..

Spring Break preview...

I think this is a good preview of what to expect...

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

There is really a lot of action going on from the day we got here in Atlanta. All the fun and excitement would not end anytime soon. This is because we are planning for a skydiving trip coming up in the first week of march. The tentative date is 3rd of march and it is also subjected to the weather. I think some of you would think that it is a crazy idea to jump out of a plane at 15,000 feet. But think about the feeling of free falling for 60 seconds and taking in the great view and of course the wild experience. There are important points to note for those who are interested.

1. It would be a tandem jump i.e. you are harnessed to a qualified instructor who would do all that needs to be done to bring you down safely.
2. There would be a 45 minutes introduction briefing to cover all the safety precautions and important information that we need to know before the jump.
3. The cost of the jump is as follow:
1 Person: $149.00
5 – 9 People: $139.00
10 + People: $129.00
4. The drop zone is about an hour drive from here and we would have to rent a car for this purpose. The organizer says that he can work something out for the transport if we can confirm the no. of participants i.e. rent a bus.
5. The duration of the whole event would normally last about a day because the plane takes only a few at a time.

Currently, there are about 8 brave souls who are up for the adventure... More are welcome! It is not always you get to do something that exciting and the rates are considered cheap because we are part of it as students of GT.

For the more 'garang' one, you can try the AFF program which allows you to jump solo after a 6 hours course on the ground. That would cost around 250 but you would get certified after going thru a series of jumps. Check out the links for more info.

http://www.gtskydive.com/
http://www.collegeskydiving.com/

Lastly, all this is possible because the president of the GT sky diving club is really forthcoming in making our first jump possible. He would be coming down on friday night for the CNY dinner and answering any more questions that we would have.

Still hesitating... check out the video....

Tribute to GIP(eeps)...

Had an awful day at school, but managed to pen a little poem. Guess what, it's to commemorate Valentine's/Friendship Day! Thanks guys for the wonderful company so far! "FOR YOU~!" haha

Icy warm reflectionz

Despite twenty years of play and tome,
We were merely strangers.
Most paths hardly crossed,
Let alone knowledge of one’s existence.

Yet, more than a thousand miles from home,
We became brothers and sisters.
Congregating at one famous delta,
Like tributaries of all great rivers.

What a carnival of personalities,
That never fails to amaze me.
Some more intriguing than the rest,
All of which mattered - nonetheless.

Here, we gain experience and wisdom like hungry miners,
For harvest, we’ll have to go through thick and thin.
May old mindsets wither like trees in winter,
And new characters to blossom like flowers in spring.

The journey’s finish may loom like a novel’s ending,
Let’s hope it’s not the end of the story.
A mere period it will definitely be,
To open a new chapter for you and me!

This weekend & some info abt Mardi Gras

Yo yo yo! Wat's up GIP(eeps)? Before the much anticipated Feb weekend outing, I've got two activities lined up this weekend - thanks to my friendly roomies!

1. Saturday Night 2/3/07
UFC Fight Night Pay Per View: RAMPAGE
Sounds boring? Well, we're heading to Hooters for the live telecast there! No entry fee, but a main course meal and beer will probably set u $20 back. Transport will be provided as my roomies have cars!! Ready to rumble?!

2. Sunday evening 2/4/07
Superbowl XLI, 'nuff said!
Gonna be a party at my apartment. Got food, beer and maybe a few chicks popping by(keep ya fingers crossed)! Haha... Witness this historic event and soak into the American culture!!! Btw, my roomies also invite the GIP babes too, so girls are welcome!

Interested? Please leave tags or comments on this blog.

MARDI GRAS
What you see on the website is only the tip of the iceberg. The party starts when everything organised finishes at night. No use going all the way for the day, cause nothing really happens in the day! (Everybody's dead drunk)
Warning: The party will be as debauch as you can imagine! Drink till morning, wild dancing, the ever-present boob-flashing and lots of hanky panky when everyone is drunk.
IMHO, the girls, for their own sake, better not go. This is because if u dun flash your ta-tas, the crowd will verbally abuse you or even forcefully grope u! And if u get drunk, consequences are unimaginable!
For guys, no use going for cheap thrills that are not safe! (Not to mention the ever-increasing gay community) If you wanna risk it (cos it's super tempting one, i guarantee there will be hordes of man-eaters there), then then the choice is yours!
For more info, can go to unofficial Mardi Gras related websites and see it for yourself!
Just my 2 cents

Anyway thanks u all again.
U guys make my night.

Earthrace?

Did you guys see one of the Savannah pictures featuring a powerboat "Earthrace"?

We were at riverfront first night and saw this really futuristic powerboat with dim blue lights at the side. Super nice. Never seeen such boats before.

I looked at the pictures again and saw the words "Earthrace".
Then I googled for this and woah!
THIS IS A POWERBOAT ATTEMPTING TO BREAK THE WORLD RECORD!

"Earthrace is a bid to break the world record for circumnavigating the globe in a powerboat, and using only renewable fuels."

"The Earthrace aims to smash this record by completing the voyage in less than 65 days, and will mark the first time in history that an official UIM Powerboat record will be attempted using renewable fuel."

This is a website picture of earthrace, exactly what we saw that night!

NASA!

Hey.. This is a bit early, but could we go to NASA during spring break? Kennedy Space Centre at Florida.. Tours are quite ex though, $38 per adult. Get to " Tour Kennedy Space Center, see IMAX® space movies and all exhibits and shows. Also includes the Astronaut Hall of Fame and interactive space-flight simulators." There's supposed to be a shuttle launch on 16th Mar too, which is the Fri just before spring break. This one can view from outside NASA (Cape Canaveral) itself, just have to be at the right place at the right time.

Hey hey

Yoyo everybody
I'm back from school liaoz

Just walked past a dead bird near Papa Johns. Did anyone see it?
Poor thing..it must have been frozen to death..God bless

Anyway I envy Raymond for having such wonderful housemates.
Mine just watch their TVs, play their playstations inside their room.
Doubt my side of the carpet ever got their footprints on it. wth..

ws > work hard, play much harder!
Skiing is something we shouldn't miss here, moreover its the winter season now. So everybody build up your fitness and get ready for the loads of information coming up!

Stuff to whet your appetite!

Hi all, it's been a rockin' trip so far in America, which is not possible without u peeps!

Anyway, I'm extremely blessed with nice room mates and i must confess they are rather happening!

Through our nightly TV sessions (feel free to drop by GLC#302 ok? have free flow of beer too!), we chatted a lot and here's some of the things that might interest u!

- Gatech Football game (difficult to get, but will check it out)
- Skiing (already mentioned, but some places, albeit farther, have snow all year, so no worries to ski some time later...)
- Clubbing (will probably check out some clubs by february and update u guys)
- Heavy metal concerts / Underground gigs (according to preference)
- WWE/TNA wrestling live (will organise one if they happen to drop by atlanta Philips Arena or Georgia Dome)
- Spring Break (got recommendations like Cancun, Key West)
- Poker Party (organised by my roomies, will wager $ so now not enough ppl, anyone interested?) Anyway, i dun gamble, i might be the bouncer for the night! haha

Ok ok, enough distractions from the books liao, wait become the infamous example quoted by Miss Chua ("Some of they play too hard, forget abt studies, blah,blah,blah...")

Will surely jio u ppl if any of the above is confirmed!

Global Immersion Rocks!!!
wah skiing... but first exams coming up leh.. v hard to spend both sat and sunday out for the next couple of weeks..

so far not much reply on the CNY stuff as well

Skiing?

Skiing sounds good. North Carolina? Where exactly? Some mountain there ar... I got no gear to go skiing though.. How, can loan from the place itself or sth?

Anyway I've signed up to go caving with ORGT, meeting on 31st Jan and trip on 3rd Feb, anyone who's interested (in this or any other outdoor activities with ORGT) can just go down to their office at CRC and sign up :)

WS, yeah yeah tacos without veg, just like the Arby's one.. I'll probably make tacos without meat though.. >.< Don't know if I can make it taste good though

Event coming up..

Here's a little preview of what events are coming up:

Next weekend 27,28 Jan (if possible) - Skiing @ North Carolina
3,4 Feb - Tanger Outlets (maybe, maybe not)
Chinese New Year Celebrations (17th,18th Feb)

Now need to find out how many pple are interested in skiing and shoping..

Weather's Cold

wah today weather v cold.. my room mate left the aircon to cool again.. woke up freezing as usual.

been really busy all day and night.. aah.. i need more time..

the worst thing is that you're doing lab work with a phd student who designs flawed experiments.. day after day.. efforts go down the drain..

came back to realize my apartment's microwave's door handle is coming off.. too tired to cook dinner.. decided to kope some chicken from pern ren (from last night's reception) and made 2 taco wraps with loads of ham, bacon and cheese. hah! hannah! taco is definitely nicer without the veggie :D

eh.. why so few people posting arh? so many contributors already.. post more!..

cheers,
ws
